Soft robots can work side-by-side with humans or as pipe inspection tools | Strapping Machine Automatic

Philosophy tests logic propositionally in the form of statements- ‘There is a force at work upon physical objects we call gravity.’ That statement makes sense and now the whole concept of mathematics and the ball falling is even MORE intelligible because we have expressed it philosophically and have a mental picture of the concept.

17 “ ‘We played the pipe for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’

I thought I made it perfectly clear (that means intelligibly so) that the implications of the Copenhagen interpretation are far worse than our inability to articulate causation at the frontier of a beginning.

in essence, it consists of saying: “Your religion is fine, just don’t take it literally or too seriously!”

Funny thing, I was reading about Elizabeth Cady Stanton, godmother of feminism. She believed men were inferior to women, but also, despite being an abolitionist, was a huge bigot, far beyond what was common among the elite of the day. She not only thought blacks and Asians were inferior, but even Irish and Germans (warmed my hear to finally see us Krauts listed as an inferior race. I want my reparations!) and she mocked these groups mercilessly; she also opposed the 15th amendment.

Just as an experiment, give yourself permission to view the Trinity the way I do: as a made-up notion built on no evidence but rather on the desire to maintain two contradictory demands: Jesus must be on the same level as Yahweh and yet monotheism must be maintained (because that’s clearly better than polytheism for . . . undefined reasons).

This from the guy who will not even concede that he understands what an axiom like the law of non contradiction is? it’s a little late to play innocent Bob.

One of the rewards for being good at the orphanage was an activity that the sisters had called “serving God.” God, at least for those purposes, turned out to be Father Devoy, the resident chaplain.

Every account of cosmological causation is supernatural by definition. It’s just that many people today don’t think of impersonal theories of a larger super-nature (multiverse or what have you) to be ‘supernatural’. t boils down to whether one believes mind to be primary or derivative.

Thanks for the advice. I’ve been on the receiving end of the appeal to authority many times before with my brothers. I never cared much for the fancy clothes, boots, and hat, but consider it duly noted.

UNO is one of the top card games for families. In the latest installment, UNO Flip, players still have to race to get rid of all their cards as they match their cards by number or color with the top card on the discard pile. The fun twist? When a player plays the special ‘Flip Side’ card, all players must flip over their hands and play the opposite side of the card. This flip side offers steeper penalties and adds an interesting new twist to the classic game of UNO. It’s a fun new twist on the classic card game sure to spice up family game night.

Often, traumatic memory worked just like normal memory, meaning that an episode might blur over time. For some people, the more intense an experience had been, the likelier they were to retain it as a vivid narrative. But there was a threshold, at least for some. If an experience was too disturbing, it sometimes vanished. Whether the experience was actively repressed or just forgotten, it seemed to disappear from consciousness for decades, returning only in response to a specific trigger, such as driving by an orphanage or seeing a nun at the supermarket.
